Grass Roots August 2, 2013 As I begin to turn many thoughts into an understandable set obtainable goals. I would ask you upfront, to keep an open mind as you read through this. I do not mean to seem blunt, but if you are unwilling to give ten minutes or so of your time to read this completely through, than please stop now. It is not my intent to try to convince you that we all must believe exactly the same thing, or that our opinions must mesh perfectly. I do however wish to point out some parts of our history that I believe has allowed us to be at the point we are each at on this day. I have a Love for this Nation that is hard to explain. I am by no means a world traveler. The places outside The United States that I have traveled are few. Without exception, it has at the end of each trip, been really good to be home! One really would not have to leave their living room to come to a somewhat informed decision on whether or not this is the Greatest Nation on Earth. You do not have to spend much time with any of the world news providers, to understand that the world has many things going on that can be best described as evil. If you behead another person on camera, then remove their still beating heart. That is not oppressed feelings from a bad childhood, that’s pure evil. Even with all of our faults, with all of the many things that as a Nation we struggle with, we are and can remain the most desirable place in earth to live out your life. Our very population represents in one way or another, every other nation on this earth. I believe that we are living in a country that was founded on a set of values that were far above what we are living today. You, as part of “We the People”, have every right not to agree with me. What would be impossible for you to do is to change our history. This Nation that we live in was founded to give each member of the population a certain number of rights. At the foundation of these rights we find the Ten Commandments. You do not have to believe that the Ten Commandments were given to us by our Creator, to understand that they were the basis for our Constitution. The Constitution is the very document that grants us the right to hold fast to our convictions, and be free from persecution for those convictions. History tells us that the men responsible for drafting The Constitution were God fearing individuals. As brilliant as they were, they knew that they were not capable of coming up with something more modern, progressive, or politically correct. Through the faith and commitment that they held fast to, this Nation was born, One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all. If at this point, you are offended; my guess is that you are not open to the truth. You do not have to believe in One Sovereign God, to understand that our fore fathers did! Really that is not the overall point of this, at times when the problems that we face seem bigger than the solutions we can come up with, we need to look back to the point that things got confused. When our computers do not behave as they should, we have what are called restore points. We go back to that point, delete whatever caused the malfunction, and we start again. Depending on your age, you may have a different opinion of how far we need to go back. When exactly we started to let our government legislate what the definition of morality would be is, hard to say. Do not mean to rub salt on the wound, but what is worse, is that there was a need for our government to define morality, because as a Nation, in many ways, we have forgotten how it was originally defined. We The People have not existed as a Nation for over two hundred years because our fore fathers built this Nation on easy street. It is quite the opposite. We have existed this long because those that came before us held fast to their convictions, and found solutions that were bigger than the problems that have challenged each generation before us. We have to understand that there is a major difference between difficult, and impossible. It will be difficult to alter the course that this Nation is on. It would be Impossible to believe that it is okay to set back and allow the problems that we and our government have neglected to face. Totally impossible to live out our lives, and believe that it is okay to just pass Our problems on to Our children. Each and every time that We The People of this Nation have faced problems on the National scale. We as individuals, despite our differences, have joined together. We have always been able to see the good of the Nation, and ultimately our children, more clearly than the daily not so important concerns of our own. In times past, the times of National Revival were referred to as a “Grass Roots” movement. If we see ourselves as individual blades of Grass there can be little accomplished. But if as individuals We Stand United Together, we become the grass that touches Our neighbors yard, then Our neighborhoods, then Our cities, then Our states. And Yes We The People, can become again, the Roots that binds the soil of Our Nation Together. There is no way that I can stress strongly enough, the fact that we can only change things, anything, IF We Stand Together! Here is the deal, I am going to ask you to commit to a Grass Roots effort for a period of 52 weeks, just one day a week for one year. No need to get alarmed, I am not asking for your money, I also am not going to ask you to do anything extra. In fact, I am going to ask you to not do something. By now you have picked up on the Grass Roots thing. Grass Roots is an acronym that I hope we can as a Nation rally behind. This may not sound like much of a plan, but 52 weeks from now we will be coming up on the midterm elections. I do not hold much hope of that event really getting this Nation back on a morally sound course. Our leaders need to see that we can Stand Together. So please stand as individual blades of grass for the following; G gas R rates A are S soaring S skyhigh R refuse to buy O oil O on T the S Sabbath Whether you do or do not believe in God at this point, that is your right. Of the many men and women that have worn the uniform of this Nation. Some held a love for both God and Country, some held a love only for Country. So my challenge to you is to consider the fourth commandment , and adjust your routine in a way that allows each of us to reflect on Our responsibility to keep the Sabbath Holy. Whether you do it for God and Country, or for the love of Country, I would challenge you to give this a try, all we have to lose is the ability to pass on to Our children, A Nation that is morally better than when we took Our turn at leading Her . Thank You In Advance for your support, please share this with every United States Citizen.
