My husband and I came to Crayon Campus with apprehension about choosing a large day care center since our one year old son, Michael, demonstrated a slow to warm up temperament (i.e. These children adapt slower to newness and change, are sensitive to external stimulation and their own emotion/emotion of others, and tend to feel emotion intensely). Immediately, Anne presented as extremely empathetic and knowledgeable about the development and variety of temperaments that children exhibit and was able to provide specific accommodations and strategies that their staff and environment could provide Michael to ensure a successful transition into their Infant Program. Still with much reservation, we decide to give Crayon Campus a chance to prove itself. Michael has now been enrolled at Crayon for over six months, and has recently transitioned from the Infant to the Toddler Program. Similar to his initial transition into the Infant Program, Michael’s adjustment into the Toddler Program has been very successful. For us, every person with whom we have come in contact with within this organization has been exceptionally supportive and encouraging along the way. Greg and I can now say with certainty that Crayon Campus accomplished everything it promised and more! Here is a list of the things that we love and value most about Crayon Campus: *Supportive, knowledgeable, and experienced administrators, child care providers, and volunteers *Close monitoring and adjustment of behavior management strategies catered to each childs temperament, personality, and individual needs *A variety of structured, age appropriate activities (i.e. weekly themes, daily arts and crafts, planned family and holiday events) *Emphasis on the development of a sense of family, community, and personal values/responsibility *An open/honest (yet confidential) accountability of all incidents and behaviors between children *Exceptional communication between administrators/child care providers/volunteers and parents We would have paid any price to feel as confident and reassured as we do when we drop Michael off at Crayon Campus every morning. We are forever grateful and cannot speak highly enough about this organization. We are now part of the Crayon Campus family and can’t imagine Michael being cared for by anyone else.
