Great Spirit, Almighty Healer and Creator of all things seen and unseen, it is with a humbled heart that we come together to offer up many thanks. So often we look to you to answer requests that we fail to give thanks for that which you have given. We thank you for life, and the knowledge that from the earth we are created and to the earth our bodies return, while our souls move on to the next phase of life. We thank you for the rain forests, rich with green foliage and mighty trees that give us the air we need to breathe. We thank you for the many herbs found in the forests and deserts that cure our ailments and diseases. May we understand that you have provided all we need in medicines found in nature. We thank you for the rising of Grandfather Sun in the early morning, peeking over the eastern skies, to give us the warmth and light that we need to continue along our path each day. We thank you for the foods available to us and ask for its blessing. We thank you for the cool running waters flowing from snow-capped mountains as they cascade and move around the rocks on their way to the rivers below. We thank you for its power to hydrate the bodies of all living things. We thank you for the clouds that bring the waters from the oceans to areas of land that are in need. We thank you for all two-leggeds, four-leggeds, swimmers, fliers and crawlers, and the understanding that all life should be granted the opportunity to co-exist with each other. We thank you for the knowledge that all living things have a purpose that must be fulfilled each day. We thank you for this season of birth and rejuvenation, as the the seeds begin to germinate and the flowers bring the bees that will pollinate. We thank you for the ants that show us what we can do when we unite together to work for a common purpose. We thank you for the strength of the eagle as he reminds us that we have the ability to soar above the oncoming storms of life. We thank you for the music found in the winds and the rushing waters. We thank you for the songs of the fliers in the morning that awaken us, and the evening hours preparing us for rest and relaxation. We thank you for Grandmother Moon as she watches over us during our hours of slumber. We thank you for the grace found in our brother the horse as he gallops across the plains. For the vastness, beauty and mysteries of the oceans, we offer thanks. We thank you for our Elders that remain to give us the wisdom of the ancestors and the lessons we need for the present. We thank you for those of the seventh generation that are now securing and erecting a strong foundation for the next generation to come. We thank you for our children that will inherit this task and its lessons in order to strengthen the foundation that now lies before them. We thank you for our ancestors that have given so much to us and are now guiding us in spirit. We thank you for those that come into our lives for a short time to provide us with the insight we need along our path. We thank you for our family and friends that give us the support we need during our journey. Emenv
