Great Umudykes, yesterday the University Management announced the resumption of academic activities at MOUAU today, being 3rdDecember, 2013. Unfortunately after reading through most of the reactions and questions/enquiries of our students via other social media, I fear that this information may mislead so many of our students.Now it is certainly true that the University Management has instructed all students to return back to school and resume academic activities as directed by the FG/Pro-Chancellors,but then it was quite unclear yesterday, 2nd December, 2013, if ASUU was in sync with this. However for the avoidance ofdoubt, we can confirm that ASUU National and ASUU MOUAU are still insisting on their demands and have not called off the strike. It may therefore be wise to get a firm confirmation of the state of things on campus in relation to this resumption, before undertaking any lengthy journey. I would suggest that those of our friends who live within Umuahia and environs, can make a trip to school as-soon-as-possible and get us feedback as to the readiness of ASUU and the campus in general as it relates to this recent development. This will then guide those of us who intend to travel back to take a decision, particularly those traveling back from far, like one my friends intending to travel back all the way from Ghana.We also need to continue to pray that this FG/ASUU saga is resolved swiftly in order to enable the resumption of full academic activities at MOUAU and nationwide.
