Great day in NYC. SUNY Potsdam is proud to partner with ELLIS Preparatory Academy...we actually have 10 of their graduates on our campus. I had a chance to visit with Jeremy Heyman and some of his students and also had a chance to meet faculty, administrators and tour the school. I even sat in on a US History class for part of a period and was very impressed by the students. I am excited that ELLIS will be coming north in a couple weeks to visit our campus and meet with our people, some of whom walked their halls not so long ago. Visits like these make me proud to work in this field and reaffirm my commitment to provide deserving students with the opportunity to continue their education. After ELLIS I went to SUNYs Center for Student Recruitment and met with 20 students, many with families and all but two of whom I had already seen on visits this Fall, to further discuss their interest in Potsdam. After five hours of Q&A I believe many will apply and at least visit us in the future... I ended my day getting to see my cousin, Beth Erwin and her husband Miles, for a little while before the headed off to a play. I think we decided it had been four years since we have seen each other, they live in San Antonio, and it was nice to at least see them and Im excited to see how they do in their half marathon in December...wishing you both only the best with that! Like I said above, a great day in the Big Apple!
