Great group! Thanks so much for adding me. Im researching my paternal g.g. grandparents, Benjamin Richard and Sarah Becke (Spencer, Parker-depending on which version you believe!) Craft. Benjamin was born in 1776 in either Md or Va, settled in Botetourt Co, Va. Sarah was born in 1798 in Va. They had 10 children, including my g.grandfather, John Spencer Craft. They moved to Craig Co., Va. sometime after 1850, then disappear after the 1860 census. Im also researching my paternal g.grandmother, Susan Pence Hancock, aka Susan Brown and Susan Franklin. She was also born in Va ab. 1831. My problem is that there is inaccurate info listed for all these individuals and that hampers my research. For instance, parents listed for Benjamin are Jacob and Catharine Roeser Krafft from Lancaster, Pa.; however, this does not jive with my research at all. I can find no documented source to connect Benjamin with Jacob and Catharine. As for Susan, she was confused with another Susan Pence, who was born, raised, married, died, and was buried in the Valley of Va. I have proof that this is wrong, but every online search leads me right back to the the wrong person. Any help with these folks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
