Great news! The Lake Wales Arts Council has appointed Vince Treadway as director of the Lake Wales Chorale. Vince, director of music at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Wales since 2010, is excited that many of the 30 previous members are planning to return, but encourages all who love to sing to join the Chorale. Rehearsals will begin on September 8 with new member registration at 6:30 p.m. and rehearsal from 7-9 p.m. at the Polk State Lake Wales Arts Center. A holiday concert is scheduled for December 12. The new concert attire will be all black with long sleeved shirts, slacks and dresses. In addition to the new Chorale director, the Council elected a new president and board of directors. Chip Thulberry, former assistant state attorney and longtime member of the Lake Wales community, was elected president at the May 20 annual meeting. Barbara Connor, who served as president for three years, was elected vice-president with Diana Pilsbury elected secretary. New board members include Julio Acevedo, Susie Bell, Amy Dykxhoorn, Kathy Friedlander, Keri Hunt, Qiana Lamb, Brian Marbutt, Bill Ouellette and Teresa Vorous.
