Great time to get out before the football games. Happy Holidays, fellow runners! Once again, we will be holding our annual New Years Day Mitten Run and potluck on January 1st, 2015. We are happy to partner again with the Boys and Girls Club of Iowa - please bring new mittens / gloves / hats / cash - cash is good - to help out those in need this season. A representative from Boys and Girls Club of Iowa will be available to discuss how your contributions serve our local youth, and Steve and Nancy Bobenhouse from Fitness Sports will be on hand to discuss how proceeds from Living History Farms have helped local charities. We have reserved the Ralph Whitten shelter at Lions Park in Urbandale for the potluck - the runs start at 10:00 am and the potluck will start at 11:00 am. We will have routes of 3, 4 and 5 miles available - I am in need to runners to lead those routes, please contact me. Chili and vegetarian chili will be served by your Striders, please bring a dish of your choice to share with your fellow runners. Electricity (and heat - hopefully we wont need it!) will be available in the shelter for those bringing warm dishes. This is a great start to the running season - hope to see you all there!
