Greensboro Councilman Trey Rhodes Qualifies to Run for State House District 120 Greensboro, GA- Greensboro City Councilman Trey Rhodes officially qualified today as a candidate in the Special Election for State House District 120. State Representative Mickey Channell resigned the seat last week resulting in a Special Election to fill the vacancy on January 6th. “I am excited to officially offer myself as a candidate for State House to the people of District 120. This community is my home, and I want to serve the people of this district in the manner and with the leadership they deserve. Representative Channell has done an outstanding job representing our community, and I want to continue his level of leadership,” said Rhodes. “I was born and raised hereand chose to raise my family here. I didn’t just wake up one day and decide I wanted to get elected. I have a deep-rooted commitment to helping this area be the best it can be—a place of opportunity where our kids can get a good education and where folks can find a good paying job to support their family. I can promise that I will provide you with strong, honest and hardworking leadership that will listen to you, do what’s best for the people of this district and rely on guidance from God in all of the decisions I make,” continued Rhodes. About Trey Rhodes A Greene County native, Trey Rhodes was born and raised in Union Point. He graduated from Greene-Taliaferro Comprehensive High School and from the University of Georgia. After college, Trey returned to Greene County and successfully started an Edward Jones Financial office in Greensboro from scratch, which he ran for 5 years. Trey is currently a financial planner with Piedmont Financial Partners. An experienced elected leader, Trey has served on the Greensboro City Council for over eight years. In his time on the City Council, Trey has garnered the experience to work with others to tackle tough challenges. Active in the community, Trey has coached the youth in our community for 16 years, is a member of the Greensboro Downtown Development Authority and has been active in numerous community organizations. Rhodes is married to Summer Moore Rhodes, who is a teacher at Union Point STEAM Academy. They are the proud parents of three children, Olivia, Hallie Beth and Lane. A committed Christian, Trey and his family attend Lakeside Baptist Church.
