Greeting Beloved Ones...God, Give Us A Heart Like David Series, Pt. 3. David was anointed King of Israel at a very young age [between 15-17]; and while another man [Saul] was still in that position. God was not pleased with the way King Saul was governing the people of Israel; so God fired Saul and put David in Saul’s place. God can fire Saul as king, because God was the One who placed Saul king. If God placed us in a position, He expects us to do it His way; not the way we want, or a combination of His way and ours. And if, we don’t do it God’s way, He will replace us with someone else. Nonetheless, Saul did not go without anger, bitterness and a fight with God for fired him as king, and for removing His [God] spirit in him [Saul]. Even though, David was Saul’s servant for many years after he was anointed as king; David served Saul with love, kindness, respect and dedication. But, Saul didn’t care about all the things that David did; because Saul was jealous and felt threatened of David’s gifts from God. So, Saul did everything in his power to kill David, and for many years made his life a living hell. It’s important for us to be careful not to feed and nourish anger, bitterness and jealousy in our hearts; as these things can cause damages to our spirits and souls; and sometimes make us think or do things normally we would not. “This was their song: “Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousands!” This made Saul very angry. “What’s this?” he said. “They credit David with ten thousands and me with only thousands. Next they’ll be making him their king!” So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David. Saul was then afraid of David, for the Lord was with David and had turned away from Saul.” 1 Samuel 18:7-9 & 11
