Greetings to you, Mr Abubaker Shekau and the rest of the - TopicsExpress

Greetings to you, Mr Abubaker Shekau and the rest of the leadership of Boko Haram. In kindness, please allow me to introduce myself. Together with my team, I run an a small non governmental organisation called Thusa A Girl Child based in the Republic of South Africa. The first part of our name (Thusa) means help in some local languages and our duty is to help restore the dignity of girls in South African Schools by providing them with sanitary towels and counselling, among others. It is not a secret that many African young girls are victims of poverty and many other social ills. This disturbs us greatly because as Africans, women play a significant role in our lives. Our organisation works tirelessly to help previously disadvantage African women assume their appropriate space on the global platform and spread our beautiful African heritage to the rest of the world. Like one of our late leaders, Steve Biko, once said, Africa will place unto the world a human face. Good sir, we are deeply troubled about the school girls whom you abducted on 14 April 2014 , according to you on the video now on the public, in Chibok. As you already know, it is not just my organisation but millions of other people throughout the world who are worried. Most importantly though, their mothers and loved ones can barely sleep nor eat. Depression of the worst kind has taken residence in their hearts and minds as they long to hold their children in their hands again. An earth shuttering mothers cry hovers above Chibok and can be heard in Soweto, striking the most sensitive part of ones heart. Let me confess, we are not a political organisation, nor do we intend on being one. I know very little about politics myself. I know nothing about holding a gun or throwing a grenade, so in various aspects, you may I ask who am I to engage you? Im humbly addressing you as a father of two children and a fellow African. Furthermore, Im also not too knowledgeable about your organisation and your cause and that is why I am refraining from passing ill informed opinion or judgement of any sort. One certainty that I have is that man to man, you will understand where I am coming from and hopefully accede to my plea. Mr Shekau, sir. Those girls are our sister. They are our beloved cousins and friends and they are cherished daughters of your beautiful Nigeria. As Thusa A Girl Child, we plead with you to release them back to their families. We humbly seek your indulgence and request your favourable consideration to let the 223 princesses of Africa go. You have captured the attention of the world and perhaps you may want to communicate the importance of your cause. We are all ears, sir. But, please return the girls to us unharmed. Some of them celebrated their birthdays in captivity, in dire need of family affection and warmth. Unlike you and me, they are too young to understand other aspects of life that you are in pursuit of. They are just children who want to play and and be silly at times. They are your sisters and daughters. My brother, Shekau, herein lies a massive opportunity as you currently command the worlds attention to do what is right and shame the doomsayers about Africans who inflict pain on their young. This moment presents a chance to articulate your ideological stance which will be a subject of robust debate on TV and Radio talk show, on newspapers and magazines and obviously on the accelerated information mobile we know as the internet. Please show the world that your stance is peace for humanity. This is rare chance to demonstrate that you are about unity of mankind. This will also show the world that Africa can resolve African problems in a true peaceful African way. Perhaps your kind deed will then place upon the world a much needed human face We ask, Mr Shekau, can we please have the girls back home where they belong. Yours in Peace Thabo Shole-Mashao On Behalf of Thusa A Girl Child (Chairperson) 011 046 9404 ( contact no for media enquiries only and not for publishing)
