Growing your own vegetables has to be one of lifes absolute best skills you can develop! Since my first tomatoes and peppers began forming I have been waiting for the chance to make an amazing sauce with them. Its my pleasure to share with you the recipe for my yummy pasta sauce I made using my garden yields (and some cans I had lying around of black olives and mushrooms) ! So without further ado here is the recipe to Tonys homegrown garden pasta sauce! Ingredient: 2 chopped onion 5 cloves garlic, chopped 2 teaspoons olive oil 1 pound of ground Italian sausage 12 - 14 Parks Whopper tomatoes 6 jalapeño peppers (green not red) 1 can black olives 1 can of mushrooms 1 can Italian-style tomato paste 2 - 3 cups water 3 tablespoons Italian seasoning 2 tablespoons dried basil 1/2 cup red wine 1 pinch crushed red pepper In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and remove.
