Gudday bangane. It is no easy to be a Christian. We often marvel at the faith in God displayed by those devout people who lived in the Old Testament times. Even more so so we admire and respect the early Christians who faced persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ. However, by comparison, little attention is paid to the difficulties facing a Christian in these modern days. The temptations confronting you today and which attempt to lure people away from their allegiance to Jesus, are extremely subtle. You may not face stoning or execution, your physical well being may not be threatened by torture and punishment. In todays world you face the insidious lure of greed, jealousy and lust for power, the so-called easy way of life is tempting. Compromise is considerably easier to achieve than adhering to your principles with the inevitable loss of popularity. These are but a few of the modern gods that have claimed the allegiance of people to the detriment of their spiritual welfare. If you want to live a full and satisfying life of peace and contentment then you must never allow anything to come between you and your allegiance to the Living Christ. All else will lead to disillusionment but a life in Jesus will give you fulfilment, purpose and the victory over temptation....Be careful, or you will be enticed to turn away and worship other gods and bow down to them...Deut 11v16....Enjoy your day.
