Guidelines for students interested in applying for the Truman Scholarship: Because we are allowed to nominate only 4 students, and because more than 4 students have already expressed interest in this scholarship, the Gilpatrick Center is holding a preliminary competition to determine which applicants will be endorsed. The deadline for this preliminary competition is Friday, November 21st at 9:00 a.m. Applicants must submit the following at that time: · Policy proposal · Answers to Questions 7-15 (all essay questions - the numbers could have changed from last year) · Curriculum vita (template attached) which indicates the activities you will be listing under other questions · The names of your recommenders, which one they will be writing, and a brief rationale for choosing them. All of this must be submitted as a Word document, emailed to [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. Please label the file as follows: Last name First name Truman.doc, i.e. Sunkle Cookie Truman.doc Failure to follow the guidelines set out above could jeopardize your chances for consideration, so please read this carefully.
