Guitars pt. 1 I got my very first guitar at the age of 15. There was a second hand market at my school in the small fishertown of Glyngoere, out west in Denmark. I had the equivalent of 8 € in my pocket and I found a beautiful, sunburst acoustic guitar I had no knowledge about guitars, nor did I know how to handle one. Didnt know one single chord! But the beauty of the thing was way to seducing for a teenager just starting to discover rockabilly, rocknroll and such so it had to become mine. I knew from my record covers that all the old rockers played guitars like this. Acoustic or semi-acoustic, with a cut away, pick guard and f holes. White adjusting knobs. I learned my first Chuck Berry song on it. It was a Dutch mail order guitar - Egmond. My local guitar dealer tried to trick me to trade it or at least sell it to him cheap. I later discovered that he had a significant collection of Egmond guitars. He never got his hands on it and I kept it for many years. But somewhere along the line, wear of time, foolishness and wrong choices got the better of it. I dont have it anymore - except the memories. Thats alright. You dont keep your first bicycle either..
