Gunfighters, Even I accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge thrown my way, but there are rules for the DoD that we must comply with if participating in these type of awareness activities. We are NOT permitted to wear the uniform to support or imply support of a cause (ie, ALS). That is why I adapted my Ice Bucket Challenge to the Combined Federal Campaign which is a US Government-sanctioned fundraising campaign. The Joint Federal Ethics regulation is clear. f you wish to do the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS or support any other specific charity or cause, do not wear your uniform (that includes the PTU). Feel free to ask questions if you need more clarification or better understanding of the why.
