Gurezi inaugurates 5-day Scouts, Guides camp at Dawar SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09- Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today inaugurated 5-day Scouts and Guides camp at Dawar. The Camp was organized by the Department of Youth Service and Sports. About 135 scouts and guides of ten districts of the Valley are participating in the camp. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that talent is present among the youth of the State but need is to channelize it so that they can compete at national and international level. The Minister said an NCC Camp will also be organized in Gurez Tehsil soon. He asked the organizers to organize other events in the tehsil so that the youth of Gurez get opportunity in competing at State and National Level competitions. He said the land has already been acquired for the sports stadium for which the construction work will be started soon. He said Government is keen to promote the sports activities in the State, adding that sufficient funds have been earmarked under the sector. Earlier, District Youth Service and Sports officer, Bandipora, Mr. Muzaffar Trambu gave resume about the camp. On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was also organized by the camp participants who were applauded by the audience.
