HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BARRY COWSILL! Born September 14th 1954 in Newport, Rhode Island. The fifth of seven children, he soon became the drummer (and later the bass player) of the band initially formed by his brothers Bill and Bob Cowsill, playing popular tunes at local dance clubs. By the late 60s, the band expanded to include younger brother John on drums, his mother Barbara, older brother Paul, and younger sister Susan. The Cowsills went on to turn out a string of hits including the No2s The Rain The Park And Other Things and Hair before disbanding in 1972. The early 70s TV show, and the band that came from it, The Partridge Family, were based on the Cowsills. Barry was living in New Orleans when the city was hit by Hurricane Katrina. He left a distraught message on Susans voicemail and was never heard from again. His body was found in late December washed ashore on the Mississippi near the Chartres Street Wharf, near his longtime home just outside of the French Quarter. Heres Hair by The Cowsills.....Enjoy!
