HAPPY HOKIE HOLIDAYS SF HOKIES!! We hope you have a safe, insightful, and rejoiceful holiday season! There is MUCH to rejoice! - We actually had about 10 UVA Alum at the Bus Stop during the game, and they joined us in donating $400 dollars to the San Francisco Food Bank, AND WE ALL GOT ALONG quite well during the game, and there was much rejoicing! - Bus Stop bar is donating to the San Francisco food bank to combine with our donation, AND Bus Stop is completing its 8th season being our football watching San Francisco “Home for the HOKIES,” and there was much rejoicing! - Then we beat UVA on the football field, and there was much rejoicing! - We made it to a bowl game in the process, and there was much rejoicing! - We found out Vice President for Alumni Relations Tom Tillar is visiting us here in the bay area in January 2015, and there was much rejoicing! - We found out that this is HOKIE Hans’s LAST long winded email (with weird videos) of the 2014-2015 football season…. AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING! OMG, VA HOOS AT BUS STOP?!?!!? Ok I DO have to tell the story of the Wahoos being at Bus Stop bar the night of THE Game. They did not know it is our HOKIE game watching establishment as of 2007. So when we starting putting up lots and lots of HOKIE decorations, and then some, they were, um, well, slightly overwhelmed Wahoos. BUT then we put up the food donation station for the San Francisco Food Bank. Well go figure them there Wahoos starting sticking money in for the food bank! (Thank you!) At half time I gave out the usual door prizes. OK NOT SO USUAL because I snuck in some UVA things… intentionally, and some Virginia neutral things, including a “Virginia is for Lovers” t-shirt. What ended up being hilarious is when a HOKIE won a Wahoo item, and a Wahoo won a HOKIE item, hats and shirts included. We had a gift exchange of sorts. And impromptu bets were made during the game that whoever lost, HAD to wear the clothing of the winner. And the Wahoos were very appreciative of our spirit and hospitality! Furthermore, their SF Bay area Alumni leader was there. AND he and I got to talking about doing a gift exchange again next year. They bring some door prizes, we bring some door prizes, we all donate to the Food Bank in the holiday spirit….. And there was much rejoicing! GO HOKIES! ***AND NOW….
