Presenting ‘Heroines of 84’ banner With Ann Scargill and Betty Cook Women Against Pit Closures A collage honouring all the women who served the communities of Hatfield Colliery, Dunscroft, Stainforth, Thorne and Moorends, in kitchens on picket lines, on platforms speaking, fund raising, and demonstrating. They held the line for twelve month, then took up the renewed struggle in 92/3. The collage on the reverse side of the banner is dedicated to The Women of the Community represented on this banner, organising food and welfare for the community, marching, picketing and public speaking in the great coal struggles of 1984-93. And to all of those unnamed thousands who stood firm for twelve months loyal to their community and families and the National Union of Mineworkers.
