HELP Committee member Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) reintroduced a bill last week — one of several measures introduced in the last year — that aims to bar the federal government from ever playing a role in something like the Common Core again. Sens. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) cosponsored. “We need to get the federal government out of the classroom, and return community decisions back to where they belong — in the community,” Roberts said in a statement.
