HFD Firefighters’ Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Sunday, October 20, 2013 8:00 am – 2:00 pm 10 CERT Team Members are needed to assist with pedestrian and/or vehicle traffic control at the Firefighters’ Mass at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Houston on Sunday, October 20, 2013. The Mass is being held in honor of the four firefighters who lost their lives, and to those who were injured, in the massive apartment fire in Southwest Houston on May 31, 2013. CERT Team Members will need to wear or bring: CERT vest, CERT I.D. badge, Traffic-control certification*, GMRS/FRS (2-way) radio, Whistle, Weather-appropriate clothing, Comfortable walking shoes, Snack/H2O to sustain yourself. *Note: Traffic-control certification is recommended, but not required. There will be a pre-event briefing for CERT prior to the event (TBA). The CERT rally point on the day of the event is at 8:00 am in the Old Cathedral parking lot.
