HI Guys. Thanks to Mike Monaghan who gave me the heads up about a very serious problem in Ross Errilly. It appears that the very severe weather of the past couple of winters has caused major problems with the building. Some of the stone work has been worked loose and fallen from the tower especially some of the beautiful cut and shaped arch stones from around the windows. there is also some major damage at the entrance to the tower where there are now gaping holes in the wall and some of the arch work in other areas have been worked loose as well. I have attached some photos taken today at the Friary. Its up to the OPW now to save the structure before it gets any worse.
