HI my PETS Friends and Supporters This past Saturday was a very sad day for me. I had to put my most beloved Leerbankie to sleep. It was NOT her time or her fault and it has left me heart broken. I rescued a Pitbul about 2 years ago, both her and her mom came from very bad people in bad circumstances. They were not at all people aggressive but hated other female dogs. I tried to rehome both and both came back at different times. They started causing really bad fights among my own dogs and rescues/fosters but we did not give up. We all knew how to keep the pack seperated when we left home as not to leave them with any of our other female doggies. This Saturday the maid forgot and when I came home I literally walked into a BLOODBATH. Every inch of my home was covered in blood. My precious Leerbanikie was still alive and we rushed her off to the vet. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, pieces of her body and skin fell off her when we picked her up. The vet says she has never seen anything like it in her life, and I held her in my arms and whispered I am sorry over and over again, begging her to forgive me. I loved her until her very last breath she took. She has a VERY VERY bad start to life, and by the time I rescued her about 6 years ago in Calvinia she looked a sorry sight and it took months and months for me to get her stable and in good health. Her hair never grew back due to unknown trauma she suffered in her short life, hence her name was Leerbankie(Leather couch). She was the apple of my eye and nothing was too much trouble. She was a very happy girl and seeing her wagging tail everyday when we got home was so rewarding. Many people would have put put her to sleep and I sometimes forgot what she looked like and when people came to my house I had to reassure them that she is fine and just looks like that. In her memory I would like to host a Township Spayathon so that her death meant something...and I ask all of you to consider a donation towards this cause please. a R400 donation will cover the costs of ONE animal to be saved in Macassar, please help me make this dream come true. Please email me if you can help and forward to all animal lovers too please: [email protected] Banking Details: PETS Standard Bank Helderberg ( 033012 ) Acc no 277408695 REF: Leerbankie spay
