HIMYM Finale: Disappointment or a twist in the plot? So, apparently, HIMYM took 8 years to show the story that the very talented KJo told in 3 hours... Well, for starters I dont agree to it. An article in TOI said that just like in Kuch Kuch Hota hai, the wife dies(Tracy/Tina), leaving the kids(Teds kids/ Anjali Jr.) and the kids (or kid) force the father(Ted/Rahul) to reunite with the friend(Robin/Anjali Sr.) who is actually a long lost love, while stealing her from a good looking betrothed(Barney/ Aman or Salman Khan). Hmmmmm... What are your views? And also, there is a petition being rotated in the internet to re-shoot the last episode and make it better. The three point plan goes as: 1. Barney and Robin stay together. 2. Tracy lives. 3. Ted stays with Tracy and the 3 happy couple hang out together. I so agree with this. I mean why show all that love will come eventually themed episodes all through the series when you could have finished it in a couple of lines: So kids, I saw Robin, fell in love with her. We were on n off. Then I met your mother. Shes dead, you are grown up; so now m gonna go n hook up with your aunt Robin. Ciao. Please. That would have saved us 8 long years. I mean I was waiting for the mother because she was the one who could tolerate ted. She had driving gloves, like him. She was in love with the idea of falling in love, like him. She wanted to get married and have kids, like him. They were tied in the destiny together, with the Cindys roommate, the yellow umbrella, the St. Patricks day party, the econ 305 classes. I mean what was all that about. Ted even said he stopped smoking 2 weeks into dating Tracy. If Robin was the love of his life why couldnt he have stopped smoking while he was with her? Same is the case with Robin. She and Ted stopped working because thery were different from each other; while she n Barney stopped working because they were too similar to each other. Differences cant be resolved, but similarities can be made peace with. Robin and Barney were the Brand Ambassadors of Bachelorhood and Anti-marriage campaign. It made sense that they would stay together. I loved Tracy and Ted together. I adored Robin and Ted, but they had the amateur love; it eventually fades off and they definitely didnt have what Tracy and Ted did. And practically speaking, they would never last in real life. I am sorry I am rambling but I am so disappointed in the ending. Till Robin and Barney were together, I was sorry that the show was ending. But after they got divorced I was like Dude, dont kill the show!
