Colliers Internationals Q1-2014 South Carolina Office Market Snapshot South Carolina’s growing economy, pro-active business environment and talented workforce continue to draw new businesses to the state and provides great opportunities for existing businesses to expand. Demand for office space is high throughout South Carolina as evidenced by high occupancy rates and increasing rental rates. Charleston and Columbia office markets experienced an increase in occupancy during the first quarter of 2014, while Greenville had a slight decrease in occupancy. Rental rates are trending upwards throughout the state as available quality Class A office space is becoming increasingly difficult to find. The trend is expected to continue through 2014 and will support speculative construction in the markets as vacancy rates further decline.
