HOW WILL THEY KNOW? “…for ‘whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be save.’ How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘how beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!’” Romans 10:13-15 I recall reading an article about a young girl who had lost both her parents in a tragic car accident. After their death she attended a neighborhood church and learned the way of salvation and eternity in heaven with Jesus. Upset to realize that her parents had probably never made the decision to know and serve Christ, she wrote a letter to the church saying that even though they lived close to the church NO ONE ever came to tell them about Jesus. She then called them hypocrites. This should call us to action! We really have no excuse. God Himself calls us to share the Good News with others. Additionally, we have films, brochures, tracks, classes, and churches nearby that can compel others to learn about Jesus…but without someone to share it, how else might one know about Him? Let’s Pause for Prayer. Lord, we want to see others come to know You. Show me the words to share, the tools to use, the compassion to show that I care and love others and reveal to me personally those individuals or groups to which You would like me to reach out. Show me the places in my day that give me the time to pursue others. I don’t want to have any shallow excuses when I stand before You for why I couldn’t or didn’t share You with others. In Jesus’ name we pray. Who has the Lord brought to mind with whom to share His gospel? What is your next step to being able to develop a relationship and share with others the GOOD NEWS?
