HPTDC to have counters in post offices The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has drawn up a proposal to tie up with the Department of Posts to enhance its marketing network. The department will become the HPTDC’s partner by opening up an exclusive counter in its post offices all over India. A business module to book rooms in HPTDC hotels through different post offices has been agreed upon between the two partners and modalities are being worked out through Post Master General (Shimla). This is the first association of any tourism industry or hotel chain with the postal authority. It will not only help boost the HPTDC hotel business but also generate handsome revenue to the Postal Department. Along with the counter at different post offices, the department will also book the luxury coaches. Initially, HPTDC will have its exclusive counter in post offices at Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Noida, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Vadodra, Bharuch, Bhuj, Surat, Rajkot, Bhavanagar, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Malda, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Panajim, Bangalore, Belgaum, Mangalore, Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Sikandrabad, Vaishakhapatnam, Vijaywara, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttak, Rourkela, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Gawalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Patna, Lucknow, Kanpur, Delhi, Madurai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad.
