PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, BEE, IR matters, performance monitoring and employee counselling KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Work closely with departments assisting Line Managers to understand and implement policies and procedures Liaise with a wide range of people involved in policy areas such as health and safety Staff recruitment Conduct exit interviews Develop and implement policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absenteeism management Provide advice on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits, interpret and advise on employment laws Undertake regular salary reviews; administer payroll and maintain employee records Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures; provide advice and recommendations on disciplinary matters including representing Company at CCMA and Labour Court Together with Line Managers develop HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements Plan, and sometimes deliver training, including inductions for new staff Analyze training needs and development opportunities together with Line Managers Provide support to supervisors and staff to develop their skills and capabilities Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place at all times Provide advice and assistance when conducting staff performance evaluations Responsible for employee bursary scheme for external training, organize staff training sessions, workshops and activities Provide basic counselling to staff who have performance related issues Provide advice and assistance in developing human resource plans Monitor staff daily attendance, investigate and understand causes thereof, recommend solutions to resolve absenteeism Promote workplace safety Explain employment standards and legislation such as workers compensation, labour standards and labour related acts Assist employees with work matters, career development, personal problems and industrial matters Help implement organizational changes (such as those following from industrial relations legislation, revised job classification structures or technological changes) Take part in strategic management REQUIREMENTS: A Degree in HR Management or equivalent 4 Years-experience in an HR business environment, with a minimum of 2 years proven supervisory skills Advanced computer literacy in MS Office and proven knowledge of HR and Payroll information system Proven application of labour legislation, i.e. BCEA, EEA and LRA Attention to detail, excellent time management, planning, coordinating and prioritising skills Excellent negotiation, liaison and administrative skills The ability to work well under pressure, within set guidelines and adhere to deadlines Knowledge of at least one African language Excellent telephonic, verbal and written communication skills across all levels Independent, self-motivated, proactive thinking individual Ability to do own job planning and function independently and prioritize tasks effectively A high level of multiskilling, flexibility and confident individual Assertiveness, conflict handling and problem-solving skills Should you meet the above requirements, please submit your CV to [email protected]
