HUGHES LOCAL HEROES - James Nguyen and Liverpool Hospital I love hearing about everyday Australians in our area who are the unsung heroes in our community. Its espescially great to see all the ways that individuals give back to our community. Thats why Im sharing James Nguyens story... James Nguyen’s father lost his fight with cancer recently, so the former Liverpool Boys’ High student knows all about what cancer sufferers and their families go through. While his father was undergoing chemotherapy in the Cancer Therapy Centre at Liverpool Hospital, instead of dwelling on the negatives, James felt inspired to brighten up the dull hospital walls. This inspiration led to James contacting Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre to see if they could help brighten up the Hospital. As a result of this teamwork visitors to Liverpool Hospital can now enjoy 13 artworks on loan from the Centre, which help brighten up the corridors of the Liverpool Hospital Cancer Therapy Centre.
