Had a bit of a scare yesterday. Sky, our puppy, started shivering incessantly. His eyes were glazed and he was really lethargic. I noticed what looked like a cut and lump on his neck. Imagined it might be a snake bite. So I and decided to take him to emergency clinic. Before leaving the house, I doused the wound with Essential Oil of Oregano (I used Oreganol P73). He was in pretty bad shape before we left -- he couldnt even follow me to the car. We had to pick him up and put him in there. Well, by the time we got there (15-20 min), he had stopped shivering. He got out of the car himself and his eyes were looking more normal. The vet shaved the area and said it looks more like a spider than a snake. She laughed and said it smelled like an Italian kitchen. She figured that, whatever it was, he was fine now and his body managed to deal with it. I read somewhere that Oregano Oil neutralizes venom. I used it once on my son after he got four yellow jacket stings on his arm. He was in so much pain. Our friend also got stung at the same time and was worried because he usually reacts badly and swells up. Well, I applied the Oregano oil and literally withing 20 seconds, they were both saying the pain was gone. Our friends arm never got infected. I dont care what the vet thinks, I am always keeping a bottle around for emergencies like this! Highly recommend. Oh, the first picture is him after the vet shaved the area. The second pic is today.
