Had a brief hands-on with Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch this week (or should that be a wrist-on?) and was impressed by the camera the voice control. The Galaxy Gear is being marketed as a companion to the Galaxy Note III which I had a quick hands-on with. I was struck by how much lighter and smaller it feels even though screen size increased from 5.5in to 5.7in. Its predecessor, the Galaxy Note II, was one of the best smartphones of 2012 due to its processing power and battery life. The Galaxy Note III feels like more of a premium phone, is more comfortable to use, has a much better camera, a more powerful processor and a battery that is even more powerful and will last even longer. You can buy the Galaxy Note III without the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and unlike the watch, the phone is already on sale in Irish stores.
