Had a long conversation with the Sheriffs Dept. Again, a lot of info. to share -The Sargeant spoke to the owner of the gas station on Hazel & Madison and the owner was uncooperative (huge surprise). TED has been out there and is in close connection with code enforcement. Code enforcement will be out to investigate very soon. -There are 2 full time TED officers and seem to respond quickly. However, they are required to give the homeless at least 48 hrs. notice before removing their belongings etc. from a camp site. The Sheriff encouraged me to spread the word to call TED anytime we see something that needs cleaned up. 874-1025 -As of 9/1 Sheriffs will begin citing panhandlers in the intersections or on any sort of road. The tickets will turn to warrants and eventually they will be arrested. -Sheriffs Dept. also noted that to hire more of them or beef up the dept. our politicians need to hear our voice and know what their constituents need/want.
