Had the dressings changed today and it was nothing like as bad as last time. Got a good look at it all and have to say it looks awful. Deep holes on both sides of leg and foot, part of ankle bone is totally gone. Its all stapled together like a patchwork quilt with in the region of 70-80 staples. They all have to come out tomorrow or Sunday and I will be allowed to put weight on my leg on Monday. Because I have three flights of stairs to get up and down at home the physiotherapists say it could be another week before Im ready to leave hospital. The doctors tell me its a fantastic result and its one of the best skin grafts theyve done with as much as 98% of it taking. Probably would have been 100% if that silly nurse had listened to me on Wednesday and not pulled at the dressing as she did. They say 90% is very good. The nurses keep asking me why no-one comes to visit me. After todays comments it seems pointless to lie.
