Happy Birthday to my beautiful mother, Betty Garner Dozier. She seems to only grow more beautiful with age. She has taught me more things than I could list here but I will list the top 5..#1~My mother taught me how to be a mother. Raising us 4 girls was my mothers #1 priority. She was always willing to stop what she was doing to help me. I always knew I was important to her. #2~she taught me how to be a helpmate to my husband. My father was always blazing new trails with grand ideas and leading great ministries but my mother was the silent force( not always so silent lol) behind him organizing things,, thinking things through, pointing out the wisest course and encouraging him. Truly the wind beneath his wings.#3~My mother taught me money does not buy happiness, to invest in eternal things...My parents have NEVER and probably never will be wealthy people in the worldly sense but she is very rich indeed in what matters.#4~My mother taught me to see Christ in everything.. As a toddler I can remember her pointing out the beauty of flowers, the sunset, waterfalls, the rain, etc. She always gave God the glory for His beautiful creation. #5~ my mother taught me to guard my heart. I didnt value this as I should have as a teenager but I am so thankful now that I was not exposed to the violence and perversity of many worldy movies and tv shows. We never had cable growing up and the movies watched at our house had to be of a high standard. I use to get so mad I couldnt watch the other shows my friends talked about. I truly believe now that keeping my heart from those things at a young age protected my emotions and feelings in so many ways. I could go on and on about the wonderful mother, grandmother and now friend that she has been and still is but Ill save some things for her next birthday.
