Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Kathy-Happy Birthday to you! I know I am a day early but I will be at the center tomorrow. I still miss you more than ever. Time heals all wounds could be a questionable theory-at least for me. I wonder if you ever heard of the Butterfly Effect. It is the chaos theory in which a butterfly can flap its wings on one side of the earth and start a chain of events that could form a hurricane on the other side of the world. My theory on the meaning of life includes the Butterfly Theory. I believe that so many of us look for that one thing we did that justified our existence or left its mark on the world. Very few people are lucky enough to see the effects of their life but they are there! We have children who have children and all these people leave a lasting mark on those they encounter. Maybe one time you anticipated a child running out into the street and applied your brakes, stopping the car behind you who didnt see the child. Maybe you gave a piece of advice to someone that was considering suicide and the advice made them reconsider. Maybe your strong stand on morality affected someone into changing their lifes path. Im sure you dont know that you have saved my life multiple times. When I was first learning to drive, you told me to never trust the side mirror before I changed lanes-to always turn my head and look. I can remember 4 times where that advice saved me-one of the times I would have tangled with an 18 wheeler-and lost! There are so many ways that we change to world and we will never know. But I believe that if we live a good, honest life, our mark is left on the world in more ways than we will ever be able to count. Thank you for being my rock, my big sister and the butterfly that changed my life!
