Happy Birthday today (Nov. 29) to Scottish musician Martin Carr, who came to prominence as a founding member, lead guitarist & chief songwriter with UK alternative rock band The Boo Radleys; they were associated with the 90s shoegaze & Britpop movements, scoring the 1995 UK #9 single Wake Up Boo from their UK #1 Creation Records album, Wake Up!; after the bands breakup in early-1999 after six albums, Martin launched a solo career under name bravecaptain - his solo work has largely alternated between electronic-based & experimental (compared to his previous group work), & more conventional acoustic singer-songwriter material; his most recent album is the 2009 Ye Gods (and little fishes)…
