Happy Friday, PHA! As we come to the end of our two-week fall break, we are happy to announce that sweatshirts are in!! If you pre-ordered your sweatshirt, please be sure to stop by the office on Monday and pick it up! Friday is also time for our kumu spotlight! Tonight we are pleased to spotlight our school secretary, Kumu Erica. She is rapidly approaching her one-year mark as secretary of our school! Thank you, Kumu Erica, for helping to provide a welcoming atmosphere to everyone who walks through our doors! Ever since she was a little girl, Erica Banks dreamed of working at a school. Her two brothers and three sisters patiently (and sometimes NOT so patiently) sat through classes as Erica taught them basics of reading, writing, art, math and science. Erica has been a resident of the Rose Park neighborhood for the past fourteen years and enjoys the diversity and sense of community that the area offers. She has been a longtime volunteer in the classrooms of her children and served on the SCC and PTA committees. For seven years she was a full-time stay-at-home mom. It was by happy coincidence in late 2013 that she was hired to be the secretary of Pacific Heritage Academy. In her free time, Erica can often be found looking for treasures in thrift stores and repurposing old items to be new again. She loves reading, crafting, and being with her family. Her goals for 2015 are to learn Spanish and grow a vegetable garden.
