Happy Friday morning, Team Kadena. We are still in TCCOR Storm Watch. As of 0300, Typhoon Soulik was located 275 miles south of Kadena. It had winds gusting to 132 miles per hour near its center and was moving to the west at approximately 16 MPH. The closest point of approach is forecast to be 270 miles south at 0600 12 July. If Typhoon Soulik continues to move as forecast, damaging winds of 58+ MPH (sustained) are NOT anticipated to occur. The strongest sustained winds on Okinawa were 34 MPH with 47 MPH gusts.
