Happy Labor Day Weekend First There Was Harmony! All of us in the Administration Team would like to wish you all a happy, healthy and absolutely fun last gasp of summer weekend as it is celebrated in the United States. For all of our younger Team Harmony members... Cheer up kids and count the days until Winter Break...LOL!!! Weve had a great summer here at First There Was Harmony and this time last year we were in full #HARMONYATL mode! All of the build up toward this wonderful musical hitting the stage again last year, was pure emotion at its highest level. I think we all had those theatrical labor pains right along with Bruce & Barry. We held on to every piece of anything we could find out about how things were progressing. The day it finally happened though was just indescribable and some of us on the Administration Team were not there to witness it in person, but believe me we truly were there in spirit and enthusiasm. Last year this Lead Administrator spent my 49th birthday RIGHT HERE at my keyboard which happened to coincide with the Official Red Carpet Opening Night at the Alliance! We went 24 hours straight between us in researching and coverage. Waiting for that very first review to come out. We didnt sleep a whole lot during the Atlanta run. We didnt eat a whole lot (well healthy anyway) during the Atlanta run. Just when we would think we were brain dead we would lift each other up, remember what we were doing, why we were doing it and all that was at stake and then it would wake us up more alert than the strongest coffee ever could. The closing weekend came in Atlanta and it was our turn as our wonderful West Coast Administrator and yours truly had their turn to see Harmony-A New Musical for the absolute very first time. We were nervous to find out what people thought first hand about what we were doing. We were of course excited with anticipation to see this for the first time and true story. Get to the theater to just go say hello, ended up sitting in the lobby talking to Bruce and then were forbidden to even look at the video screen as the show played in the lobby... LOL! Believe it or not we didnt cheat either and take a peek once Bruce left us. Meeting this wonderful group of young (and often tiny) actors and actresses. Who were actually excited to meet US (say what really?!?). I cant remember how many times we heard OMG its First There Was Harmony! Because after all that was our name... LOL! Bruce even introduced us that way and as proud as we were, we were a little shy about it as well and like Its not about us, This is just what we do. The people at the Alliance Theatre itself could not have been sweeter to us and were just as enthusiastic to meet us. Then we finally sat in our seats and that musical started and what did we do? We cried like babies! OMG it was finally real! OMG it was a beautiful baby! More beautiful than we had ever imagined.Then in this one moment we just got it, we understood it, we really did realize we knew exactly what this means to Bruce and Barry. It without a doubt is the absolute best work they have ever done without any stretch of the imagination. Just WOW! Right then just by the time intermission came we knew OK it might need some tweaking but OH YEAH THIS HAS GOT TO GO TO BROADWAY! They are ready! You could sense it, you could see it, you could feel it and you could taste it. We left Atlanta pumped to the max and if I could have made a T-shirt it probably would have said Harmony-A New Musical. The dream lives and endures! So was the summer of 2013 and we still had the run in Los Angeles to go and not knowing what to respect. So if anyone wants to know how we feel now a whole year later. What level of dedication we have now for the in between time. Just memorize the previous paragraphs. We said ALL IN and we have lived ALL IN.I kinda threw out a challenge last year when I said dont talk about it, but be about it. The dream still lives and it is continuing to endure and deep down to the depths of our soul WE know that... THIS IS HARMONY- A NEW MUSICALS TIME! This is Bruce & Barrys time. Yes this is OUR TIME! I wont be spending my whole 50th birthday here with my face staring at a computer screen. But you can rest assured that there is a part of each and every single day whether we have anything to say or not we at least check to see what all of you have to say. We spend a portion of every day looking and searching for news to share with all of you. This has become a part of us and it is a wonderful thing. So we keep going forward. So as always we thank all of you with Triple 7s on Facebook (now isnt that the jackpot).So here we are at the end of the summer and it seems it promises to be a very interesting Fall as well. So keep checking back and well be keeping you all posted. Before I forget... THANKS TO THE GREATEST ADMINISTRATION TEAM EVER! YOU ALL JUST ROCK! LOVE YOU ALL! JUST AN OUTSTANDING JOB!
