Hard to swallow: A new mom asks: Hi! Im a first time mom of b/g twins. They were born at 37 weeks and theyre 9 weeks now. I have a question: my son had RSV at 2 weeks and stayed hospitalized for 9 days. Hes always sounds congested and has been having trouble eating. Hes not very coordinated at sucking, breathing and swallowing. He chokes on his milk and found out on a swallow test that he was aspirating a good amount of formula. We changed to a teal nipple (for newborns) and is better, but still choking 2-3 times a day. Theyre doing an endoscopy to see if its silent reflux or if theres anything else wrong. He just started drooling too, dont know if is normal for this age ( 9 weeks). Anybody with experience/recommendations about choking. Dont want to thicken the formula or use cereal in case he aspirates. Thank you in advance!
