Hare Krishna Movement participates in Metropolis meet @ Hyderabad ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Telangana government & GHMC (greater hyderabad municipal corporation) are organizing the metropolis meet of all the Mayors & commissioners across the globe. Dignitaries from about 50 countries are expected to participate in this meet and discuss about the common issues & solutions to a happy and sustainable city. The meet was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Governor & CM of Telangana this morning. GHMC partnered with Hare Krishna Movement to implement Rs 5/- meal for the urban poor as part of the govts food security plans. As part of this scheme, HKM-HYD had set-up 13 centers across the city and feeding about 4000 people every day. Any poor from the street can walk-in and have a four item meal by paying a small cost of Rs5/-. This program has become extremely popular and gave a wonderful name to GHMC having HKM as a proud partner. GHMC had requested us to put-up a stall in its central air conditioned Hitex indoor stadium where only the dignitaries with a special invitation will be allowed. We are honored by this invitation and we have come-up with a stall having ISKCON-Bangalore Sri Radha Krishna temple architecture. By the divine will of Srila Prabhupada & Their Lordships, this stall has come out really good and attracting all the dignitaries for giving out more info & mercy.
