Has anyone ever put a 77 crew cab body on a 79 regular truck frame with a short box bed? I am thinking about doing this with these 2 trucks if I do not sell them. They are both 1 ton trucks, 77is an automatic and 79 is a 4 speed. When I measured it the back of the crew cab would come right to the from of the rear leaf spings. It would definitely looked different. I was originally going to switch the crew cab with a regular cab and put a 16 long bed on it as the wheel base on the crew cab is 16 itself. It was a factory made rollback with the sloped bed on it. The guy that I got it from took it off and made a trailer out of it.
