Haters and all those who wrote me open letters- If you read - TopicsExpress

Haters and all those who wrote me open letters- If you read anything today, IT SHOULD BE THIS! This BRILLIANT WRITER has eloquently articulated and helped me understand the string of hate and shame thrown at me following my GENUINE PLEA FOR JUSTICE. And that is why; we cannot let a Shenaz Treasury (or the Nirbhaya case from two years back) run away with her angst. She has created a dangerous precedent that threatens to snowball. Already women like Rituparna Chowdhury have become encouraged by her boldness to break their silence. We can’t let other women follow suit. Hence, we had no option left but to name and shame Shenaz. We wrote return open letters to Shenaz, calling her an opportunist hungry to publicise her film even though we know that the opposite is true. We slut-shamed her asking what right she had to talk about women’s rights after working in a film with a song that tacitly refers to women’s genitals (Bose DK). Our point is this: your little hypocrisies are infinitely more important that the hurt, the pain, agony and suicidal feelings you and millions like you have lived with for decades. We - all the men in this nation and those women who have accepted our patronage and actively participate in patriarchy by burning their daughters-in-law for dowry among others - will gang up against women speaking up. Women need to be kept under our boots and they will be shown their position in society. sify/news/shenaz-treasury-and-the-sins-of-a-woman-who-speaks-up-news-columns-omthmqjgfcjef.html
