Have you ever heard a song that gives you chills? The first - TopicsExpress

Have you ever heard a song that gives you chills? The first time I heard 25 Minutes to Go, I was a little disturbed by it. I think it has a really creepy feel. For one thing, the whole song is counting down to a persons death. If that doesnt bother you, then maybe Johnny Cashs delivery will. His vocals start off somewhat calm, but they get more panicked as the subject of the story gets closer to his demise. To go along with that stuff, the first time I heard this was on the Live at Folsom Prison album. It makes it more unnerving when you can hear inmates cheering throughout the song. Its entirely possible that some of them might know someone (or ARE someone) that is going to be put to death. It makes the song even more eerie. If you find none of that disturbing, maybe theres a slight chance that youll be weirded out by the man who wrote it: Shel Silverstein. The same guy that wrote the childrens books that I grew up with. I remember teachers reading poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic. Now I get to combine those books with the image of a man hanging from the gallows. For the video below I decided to go with the man himself. If you want a different take on the song, someone decided to make an animated video using the version from the Live at Folsom Prison album: https://youtube/watch?v=LzJhJXuPMEc. - Mr. Big #JohnnyCash #25MinutestoGo #LiveAtFolsomPrison #ShelSilverstein
