Have you ever noticed an android apps asking for so many permissions which they dont use in their app. For instance an android torch asking for GPS location, your call history and contacts? I noticed it and decided to make my own torch app. The attempt was successful and I have now my own android torch application (iTorch). I have uploaded the app on Google play store. The application requires only Camera permission to turn on and off the LED and internet permission for Google AdMob APIs. The app also monitors your battery drainage and informs you about the estimated time remaining. I wanted to give more options to control the battery drainage by killing some processes, but that would have required more permissions. Therefore, I dropped the idea. Another feather is that you can turn off your screen by pressing the power button. That will save some extra battery for you. Other apps turn off the LED if you press the power button to turn off your screen. They usually keep the screen active during operation of the app. I request all of my friends to discard their android torches and install mine. Please provide me feedback so I could improve it.
