Have you seen this ridiculous commercial? Dad co-signs for daughters credit card and she doesnt pay her bills. 1)He was stupid to co-sign. 2)He thought giving her the credit card was the end of the conversation. Stupid & lousy parent. 3)His credit is damaged because he didnt bother to educate his daughter on the importance of paying her bill (HIS bill) or instill in her the integrity to do so. Stupid & lousy parent, again. 4)Hes not worried because now he can check his credit score with Experian and just sit back and relax. Being able to check your credit score wont FIX your credit score. I would hope people are smart enough not to fall for this! 5) It leads you to believe she got to keep the card. Again, stupid. These commercials are dangerous by putting a pretty little bow on a serious issue. I would have preferred a commercial of him cutting her card up and her going to work to pay her Dad back and him slapping his own head saying, I was such an idiot to have let this happen!!
