Having done the Dunwich dynamo for many years, done the route - TopicsExpress

Having done the Dunwich dynamo for many years, done the route check a week before the ride, done the sheepdog thing leaving BabyLondinium at stoophead oclock collecting tea lights and jams jars, done the handing out route sheets, done the roadside quick fixes for broken down riders, done the candle fairy putting lights along parts of the route, done loading bikes at the beach, done unloading bikes in London, having prepped food for riders at the halfway stop, served up and cleaned up all the rubbish left behind (last year it took us till 6am) all on top of riding the 120 miles... Can we remember its not a fookin race or pro-bike time trial event, its meant to be a fun ride, a test of courage and independance, a way of meeting every type of cyclist. So for all you team riders littering the route with discarded gel packs and trash, take your trash with you and drop it in the bin because if you keep leaving a 120 mile long pile of rubbish behind you people wont be so welcoming as we ride through their quiet sleepy villages... and dont forget the original riders and veterans of this never bullied anyone off the road to keep their average speed and ALWAYS looked out for and helped other riders. Dont kill what makes this bike ride unique or special with strava and an arrogant attitude... none of you will ever be Bradley Wiggins and hes a twat! ...because we the true spirit of the Dunwich Dynamo do all this for the love of the ride and still make it to the beach with a laugh and a smile Its not an audax, its not a reliability ride, its not a time trial and it most definitely not a race. The only rule is courtesy.... Dinky (who collected 400 jam jars, cleaned up, made it to the beach with a guitar & still beat roadies) Keep The Fun in The Dynamo!
