Having travelled through 5 out of the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria. I have discovered that the level of poverty is just amazing. In a country where domestic consumption of crude oil alone can pull people out of absolute and relative poverty, few people are sitting on wealth that belongs to an entire state. The extent people suffer in Nigeria makes my heart bleed. People live in slums that are capable of plunging them into various magnitudes of diseases. Poverty in Nigeria is a state inflicted poverty. A cartel of criminals called the politicians have deliberately inflicted poverty on the institution( Electorates) that established it.
