“He said that He would destroy them, Had not Moses His chosen one stood in the breach before Him, to turn away His wrath from destroying them.” Ps106:23 High expectations, temporal blessings, heavenly outcomes, and other holy ends via the humble means of intercessory prayer are entrusted to a few in any given crisis or outburst of sinful evil. Every generation is preserved from wrath by a gospel remnant cut from the cloth and character of one such as Moses. How many times did he reason with God? How many times did he appeal to God’s glory and name? Are you the one or part of the group who is called to intercede His kingdom come? Are you fulfilling your gospel call, or do you live as a clod that sinks to the bottom of the murky abyss? Brethren, if you dont pray for the purpose of God, who does?
